I write as tepid sponge bath.

Starving writer, since I'm no longer a relatively well-fed lab assistant. Trying very hard to learn classical Latin. And also pole dance.
Cannot understand how I have managed to live without Doctor Who and Sherlock because they are life, though I might have gotten by on Tolkien and Rowling. And Mr. Gaiman too, of course. Um. It really is the fangirling you should be afraid of. Everything else is transport.

"Among these unfinished tales is that of Mr. James Phillimore, who, stepping back into his own house to get his umbrella, was never more seen in this world." - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Problem of Thor Bridge

"We can confirm that this apparent suicide closely resembles those of Sir Jeffrey Patterson and James Phillimore. In the light of this these incidents are being treated as linked. The investigation is ongoing but Detective Inspector Lestrade will take questions now." - Sgt. Sally Donovan, A Study in Pink

"There’s a spot very near 221B that John knows Sherlock loves. It’s where Baker Street meets Marylebone Road and John’s pretty sure Sherlock loves it because it’s…well it’s a lot like Sherlock’s brain."
Inspired by the beautiful Limb From Limb by atlinmerrick. The quote above is taken from chapter 3.

Sally Donovan in The Sign of Three
First time really drawing Sally. I hope I did her justice. She was so radiant and happy in TSoT. I need an entire show of just her and Lestrade being amazing cops together.

For those wondering about these sketches and my sudden turn to acrylics – a medium I don’t normally work in –, they were all painted during my lessons to demonstrate to my students how loose, impressionist brushstrokes work. They were done from mostly from memory without proper reference and fairly quickly, with leftover paints from previous classes.

Now on with some more grading, and then hopefully some drawing and/or watercolour painting, both mediums I prefer to acrylics.

Cover illustrations and the finished cover for Naked, Stripped & Raw, a book containing these three stories by nikoford. Info of how to acquire a copy can be found here. Drawn in ink and coloured in watercolour.

Some time ago I illustrated and designed a cover for Niko’s other compilation of her fanfics, the Circle of Fifths. The style is similar, so this is a companion piece of sorts.

Just….Don’t (remix)
Finally finished it!  HUGE thank you to Marie and Jackie for their input!  I really struggled at the end.  Hope you guys like it!  I am super happy I got to revisit this piece, the original always stressed me out a bit because it was so unpolished… But yay I am happy with the skull especially!

An illustration for monster! Octo!John lounging in a pool of water. For her fanfic series, where John is a blue-ringed octopus, and Sherlock is a pirate. (That shadow right there). :)

Lineart for the cover illustrations for Naked, Stripped & Raw, a book containing these three stories by nikoford. Info of how to acquire a copy can be found here.

She’s already compiled her fanfics of the Circle of Fifths into a book which I illustrated and designed the cover of as well, so this new project is going to be a kind of companion piece to that. Colouring will be done in watercolour.
